Please note, the role is currently remote and there is flexibility on the location within the UK, however, there will be a requirement to attend the office once government guidelines permit.

Job role: Business Consultant 

Location: London (Wimbledon)

Salary: £70k

Main function

As part of our growth agenda, we have an exciting opportunity in the HPD Delivery Team, implementing and enhancing our solutions for our clients. Joining a team of Consultants, you as a Business Consultant would be one of the key points of contact for our clients, acting as an advisor, applying business and technical expertise to their set-up and configuration, and delivering structured training and product assistance.

Business Consultancy is a key HPD Professional Service as it is directly income-generating and your role would contribute to this revenue stream and further the commercial opportunities of HPD and our product portfolio. A sign of a good Business Consultant is the repeat request for services from our clients and thus, the KPIs for this role is your chargeability rate, as well as working with the Sales Team on opportunities, which make up your overall utilisation rate.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Ensure maximum income generation from existing portfolio of clients whilst fostering good client relations through a high level of service.
  • Working with the Project Managers, take ownership of the client’s business consulting requirements throughout the project to ensure a successful delivery
  • Identify income or service delivery opportunities to increase the commercial development of the product.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes.
  • Diagnose complex business issues, and devise solutions.
  • Deliver visit reports detailing key issues, solutions and future opportunities to internal HPD monitoring groups.
  • Deliver on-site and on call support to assist with the adoption of HPD LendScape.
  • Participate in client meetings representing HPD.
  • Represent the client within HPD to ensure issues are clearly understood and solutions add value to the relationship.
  • Provide consultancy services back to the product group to facilitate improved knowledge, service delivery and widen service offerings.
  • Participate in a programme of constant improvement of documentation for internal and external use, in line with the agreed documentation strategy.
  • Support the business group to meet its commercial and strategic objectives, including pre-sales work with the Sales Team.
  • Participate in the creation of the annual customer satisfaction survey.
  • Mentor, guide and coach less experienced Consultants through product, client and industry training to aid their development.
  • Compose functional specifications, working with Business Analysts to complete full enhancement/technical specifications, ensuring this meets the needs of the client.


Required Skills and competencies

Degree-level qualification or equivalent, preferably in Mathematics, the Sciences or Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in the Invoice Finance industry
  • Previous experience in a client facing support/consulting role would be advantageous.
  • Key attributes of a successful candidate: responsible, team-spirited, good communication, solutions-orientated, hard working, willing to improve, and positive.
