HPD Lendscape's  SaaS solutions offers working capital financial solutions such as factoring, discounting, supply chain finance, and asset based lending to banks and independent finance providers. Clients include large banks: Lloyds, Santander, ABN Amro, BNP Paribas; and finance providers and lenders such as Bibby, Siemens, Hitachi 

Job role: Tester

Location: London, Wimbledon, (currently remote)

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Main function

Responsible for automated testing and ensuring the use of tools effectively to facilitate this. By using analytical and technical skills the role has a direct impact of the quality of the software we create and deliver.

Required Skills and competencies

Must Have’s or Strongly Recommended Skills

  • Strong communication skills 
  • Knowledge of SQL and databases (Postgres ideally)
  • Knowledge of APIs and API-design concepts (REST or GraphQL)
  • Good Javascript ability or has learned multiple programming languages well and is eager to learn or improve their Javascript
  • Debugging techniques for both BE and FE systems
  • Working knowledge of BDD, Gherkin-syntax and TDD
  • Test-automation experience preferably with an open-source framework that uses a programmatic approach (I.e. Cypress, Cucumber, Karate, etc.)
  • Finance Background
  • API and End-to-End (via a UI) testing experience
  • Knowledge of UI concepts
  • Bamboo
  • Java and/or SpringBoot
  • Experience using an opensource CI/CD build system (e.g. Bamboo, GitLab, TeamCity, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience using a version control system
  • A passion for learning new things and the ability to work via fast-paced Agile environment

Nice to Have’s or Preferred Skills

  • Cypress, a Javascript-based testing framework
  • GraphQL
  • React UI Framework
  • Node.js
  • Other FE technologies (CSS, HTML)
  • Bamboo
  • Git
  • Understanding of UX principles and able to anticipate the end-user experience
  • DOM model
  • Experience of automated testing of web applications (Scripting/Coding, not GUI driven point-and-click)
  • Genuine interest and desire to pursue career within automated testing
  • Leadership experience (either formally or informally helping or leading junior testers)
  • Ability to size and scope the effort to test work
  • Ability to detect ambiguity and ensure clarity is found in the process of gathering technical requirements
  • DevOps and Cloud (e.g. AWS, Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, etc.)
